Student Recognition

We love supporting the academic efforts of our Solon High School students. 

We offer a variety of programs that recognize academic improvement as well as achievement!

This year’s honors banquets will be on the following dates:  Juniors, May 16th, Seniors, May 16th, Sophomores, May 17th and Freshmen May 18th.

Solon Academic Booster’s Programs:

Rising Star – Students recognized for academic efforts (1 student/class each grading period). Students are rewarded with lunch and certificate.

Academic Letter Awards – A recognition assembly is held for students maintaining a 3.5 or above grade point average for the academic year at Solon High School. Students are awarded chenille letters the first year. Second year and third year achievements are awarded second and third year academic pins.

Strive for .5 – Students recognized for improved grade point average of .5 or more from one grading period to another. After the second and third grading periods students are rewarded with a lunch and certificates. After the fourth grading period, students are rewarded with a gift card from a local business and certificates.

National Merit Scholars – National Merit commended and semi-finalist students are taken to lunch with the principal and assistant principals.

Academic Team Mini Grants –Each team is given monetary support based on the number of active members to be used for entrance fees, travel expenses or end of the year parties.

Exemplary Attendance – Seniors with four years of exemplary attendance are taken to breakfast with the principal and assistant principals at a local restaurant.

Graduation Medals – Seniors attaining a grade point average of 3.5 and above for seven semesters receive engraved medals to wear at graduation.
